This week we’re going crazy on socks! We already covered the best socks for running in the rain,
and the best ones for hiking, and this time we’re going to compile a review on the best one for running
in the snow.
Yup, some of you might live in snowy areas – and at times you have to deal with a situation where you
need to run in the snow.
The side effects are pretty much like running in the rain, but chances of frostbite are more severe.
What we looked for this time where socks that are durable, cozy, hot, dry quickly and can deal with snow the proper way.
There weren’t many – but we found just the right ones which will suit this situation.
Snow Running Socks That Are Awesome
I love these socks. I bought my first pair of Feetures (Elite Light Cushion) the day before I ran my first marathon in 2012 and soon after purchased the Elite Ultra Light pair I’ve run 9 more marathons since then and will not run in anything but Feetures socks. They are lightweight yet provide the right amount of support. My first pair lasted a year and half until I finally wore a small hole where the big toenail rubbed against the sock. The company offers a lifetime warranty so I called them, got a live person on the phone right away, and had a replacement pair within 10 days. From the sock itself to the customer service, this company is top notch.
I started following this brand after my first purchase last year. These socks are constantly a winner. They are very comfortable, have a nice stretch, are very durable and long lasting! I definitely recommend!
I bought this for my wife in March, 2015. She has owned a lot of merino wool socks through the years, usually the SmartWool brand. Most of her socks of this kind are so well worn that they are in need of replacement, hence this gift for her.Best thing I can say is that, last night, I overheard her telling her friends that these are fantastic, and that they are warmer and have worn better (i.e., have fewer or no holes) compared to SmartWool. She also often “complains” that they keep her feet “too” warm. As she is perpetually cold, I find this ironic. These are basically the only type of socks she’s worn this winter, by choice.I’m constantly trying to avoid buying cheap usually foreign-made junk that is useless after a month; that junk is everywhere on Amazon nowadays. I really like that I’m purchasing something made in the USA, and I feel I have been rewarded for that choice in the quality that has been seen, felt, and had.
so far so good. nice fit and stylish. not sure if they are total support socks like the 20.00 ones at REI, but good none the less
When I wear these socks I look like Captain America, and I am also told I look darn tough. I don’t know why these socks attract so much attention and so many comments, but they do. They are comfortable and light. I’m not entirely thrilled by how they cut off circulation to the legs, but then again, I’m not used to wearing socks that rise close to my knees. But no matter, as long as I look like Captain America, I have no complaints.
i got these in pink where the blue is, using the color description as just “strawberry ” made me think they were talking about the parts that are red in this picture. I cant recall what color the toes and heel and such were on the pink ones as they were xmas gifts. I think it was red. Anyways, it was ok because they were still cool. Kinda derbyish.
I discovered Darn Tough socks sometime in 2015, and I am slowly, as the pocketbook allows, stocking my, my son’s and my daughter’s drawers with them. They are simply the best socks ever! Comfortable – I mean like you don’t realize you are wearing them no matter what you are doing – running (my son runs cross country), hiking (we all hike, but my daughter is an expeditioner), working out at the gym (that’s me), working 12 hour nursing shifts (again me), trekking in the snow and walking (well, um… all of us)… you get the drift. Plus, they come in practical (aka boring) and really fun (also practical) patterns – ALL backed by a lifetime guarantee. You cannot lose. Start stocking YOUR drawers today. I am especially fond of these tall, warm, adorable ones. Peace, Love, Happiness. Makes me smile when I wear them.
