Hey fellow readers,
some time ago I’ve got an email from Amily, mother of two, saying that one of her sons is into basketball,
and that his birthday is coming up – and a pair of slick basketball shoes would make him extremely happy.
“Which pair would you recommend?” she asked, and so – I’ve tried to come up with a fair answer.
I’ve looked into the leading basketball shoes manufacturers, and took the ones who makes them in smaller
sizes – and I think I’ve come up with a cook little list of awesome basketball shoes for your kids!
I’ve taken into consideration cushioning, form factor, shoe steadiness, brand quality,
and ‘coolness’ – colors, shapes, whatever is hip and neat.
With no further a due, the results:

My son was looking for ever for a green pair of Adidas that didn’t clash with the rest of his wardrobe. It’s the best compromise I’ve seen
I had concerns about sizing, given some of the reviews, and ended up live chatting with one of Adidas’s customer service reps. She suggested ordering my son’s actual size. I ordered up slightly—a 1—and it looks like we got the right size. I had to really undo the laces (all the way down the shoe) for my son to be able to get them on but then they fit. Since we’re going to be keeping them, I also played with the back part of the shoe (bent it back and forth a bit) to loosen it up. My son will be using them as court shoes for basketball and I think they’ll work well. They look great too.
My daughter loves these shoes! She’s playing basketball and didn’t need them but I wanted to get her some new shoes like the other girls had. I ordered them big because her game socks are very thick. I felt they may be a little too big and contemplated exchanging them but she was so sad so we kept them and she plays in them with her thick socks. She says they are comfortable.
My kid loves these, I love these, so we bought them this year, as well as last year. They’re not cheap, but they’re sturdy enough to get my high-energy boy through an entire school year. He likes the ankle support these offer without feeling boxed in by a hi-top. Good traction, easy to put on. Fantastic color, very bright red. Recommended.Update: It’s December 1, less than four months after I purchased these for school. I’m sorry to say, this year’s pair did not hold up nearly as well as last year’s. The bottom of the shoe near the toe cracked and is hanging by a thread, making these unwearable. For the price I paid, I expect much, much more. This will sadly be our final pair of Stutter Steps. Not recommended anymore.
Bought these for my son for Basketball Season. He continues to wear the shoes after the Basketball Season so I’m impressed with these Nike’s for the price!
My son just started playing B-ball at the local YMCA and needed these shoes to stay competitive. They look and feel great and the price can’t be beat. I plan on buying the same pare in black (if they have them). They are very nice looking and just what he needed and for the price, they couldn’t be beat. I would recommend these shoes to all my friends and family and you should give them a try before you purchase the overly expensive shoes that will not increase your child’s performance on the court.
Bought these for my daughter, second pair of the Under Armor Clutch-Fit shoes. Great for basketball and perfect high ankle support
I purchased these shoes for my 9 year old daughter to use for basketball. She is always twisting her ankles. The high top style provides good support for her ankles. She had no further injuries after getting these shoes. Since basketball is now over, she wears them often and they do seem to be pretty durable and clean up well.
I use them for the gym awesome shoes!!
